Module 1 Overview: Relations and Functions

If you have a job, you are very interested in being able to calculate how much money your hours of hard work has earned you. You can calculate this by modeling the situation with a linear function that gives your total pay as a function of the numbers of hours you have worked. In this module you will investigate the mathematics of various functions. You will be introduced to the language of functions, and learn about the standard function families that we study throughout the Algebra II/Trigonometry course. You will learn about function composition and inverse functions, and be able to verify whether or not a given model is a function. We will begin with a discussion of function notation.
