Introduction to Topic 12.2 - Transformations of Trigonometric Graphs
In this topic you will continue to study the graphing behavior and characteristics of trigonometric functions. Specifically, we will explore the transformations of these functions.
As you may recall from your study of geometry, a transformation is a change or movement of a function’s graph. Perhaps you remember the familiar transformations: translations, or “slides;” and reflections, or “flips.” In this topic, we will also such transformations of trigonometric function graphs.
Essential Question: How do you identify and graph the amplitude, period, phase shift , and vertical shift of a trigonometric function? How do you describe and graph the effect of transformations of the trigonometric functions?
