Let’s review the fundamental techniques for creating accurate graphs of functions:
- Place the function into its best form for graphing, generally by solving for the y variable
- Create a table of values manually, or use the graphing calculator to do so (by entering the function’s equation into the calculator at “Y=” and creating the table)
- Select several points to plot on your graph paper
- Connect your plotted points to create the graph, in a manner that resembles the graph on your calculator screen
