For this assignment, you get to design your own project to demonstrate your knowledge about the Solar System. In your project you must include information or references to the eight planets, Earths Moon, one dwarf planet, and one other member of the Solar System. You will begin by coming up with an idea for your project. Provided below are a few examples of project ideas. You may use one of these ideas, or create your project:

  • Design a fashion or shoe line in which each piece is based on an object in the Solar System.
  • Compose an original song or poem based on objects in the Solar System.
  • Create an artistic interpretation of the Solar System through drawing, graphic design, collage, paint, or photograph, etc.
  • Create avatars or characters to represent objects in the Solar System.
  • Create a scale model of the Solar System.
  • Create a project idea of your own

Next, you will need to get approval from your instructor using the Solar System Project Proposal Template. On this template, you will be asked to complete the following questions.

  1. How do you plan to represent components of the Solar System? Specifically, which celestial objects will you depict?
  2. What information will you include to demonstrate that you understand the structure of the Solar System and the objects within it?
  3. What will your final product look like?
  4. How do you think your instructor should assess your final project submission?
