Module 11: Ecology

hand holding EarthEcology is important because it explains the relationships between the organisms on Earth and the impact of organisms on their environments. By examining species at different levels, ecologists can study how they act as individual populations, how they form relationships, how they transfer energy, and how they interact within the ecosystems where they live. In this module, you examined the relationships of species by looking at the flow of energy through ecosystems. You also explored how ecosystems grow and change over time due to the different abiotic and biotic factors available. As a human, you have the ability to contribute to the disruption of ecosystems, but it is also in your power to take action to protect the planet and life on Earth. You can make a difference!
