Triangle Relationships
You have completed your study of the relationships that exist between the sides and angles of a triangle. You have learned that in a triangle, the largest angle is opposite the longest side, and the smallest angle is opposite the shortest side. How do you determine if three lengths will form a triangle? You know that in order to form a triangle, the sum of the two smallest lengths must be greater than the largest length. When given two side lengths, you know that you must find the absolute value of the difference and the sum of the lengths to determine the range of possible lengths of the third side. You are now an expert on the relationships that exist between the sides and angles of a triangle.
