In this module, you learned about the necessary components of an effective fitness plan. When designing a personal fitness plan, it is a good practice to:

  • set measurable goals;
  • assess your progress and modify your plan when needed;
  • include warm-up, stretching, workout, and cool-down activities;
  • apply the F.I.T.T. principles;
  • apply the principles of overload, progression, and specificity; and
  • choose workout activities that include total-body exercises, core exercises, upper-body exercises, and lower-body exercises.

Creating a fitness plan that includes these components will help you maintain lifelong physical fitness.
