In this module, you embarked on a fascinating voyage through nearly 6,000 years of oceanographic history, from joining the explorations of ancient Phoenicians to some of the latest research voyages of today's oceanographers.
Of course, it would be impossible to include a complete history of oceanography in this course. Nevertheless, your brief journey still covered some of the key events that helped shape modern oceanography and led to many of the most important discoveries in the field.
With the 2011 launch of the Aquarius satellite, oceanographic researchers look forward to making many more exciting discoveries for years to come!
