Module 9: Fluids

diverIn this module, you will plan a dive. You will create a travel brochure that can guide travelers on a dive trip and that describes your trip and how physics is used to keep divers safe. This assignment will be described in more depth in the authentic assessment at the end of the module. You will learn how density, pressure and buoyancy affects divers. You will learn You will explore physics principles that control pressure in fluids and learn how to determine if something sinks or floats. You will also discover how the physics of fluids enables flight and curve balls.

Pre-Assessment:

discussion iconIf you wanted to go on a diving expedition, what diving gear would you need? Two primary pieces of diving equipment are an air tank and diving weights. Why do divers need these items? When planning a dive, why does the depth of the water matter? Post a paragraph on the discussion board with your response.  Read the responses of your classmates and respond to at least two of them.
