The American government plays a large role in the international community. Because of this, the U.S. must maintain different types of relationships with many different nations. The way the U.S. government conducts itself in these interactions with other countries is known as foreign policy. During this module, you will examine the American foreign policy goals from the past and the present, the influential individuals and organizations behind the design of foreign policy, and how foreign policy decisions are reached and implemented.
