Australia and the Pacific Islands

Sunrise in the Australian Outback
During your travels through Australia and the Pacific Islands you became dry, windswept, wet, and sunburnt. This region was very physically demanding. Australia is dry and flat. The only mountain range is on the eastern coast, where most of the population lives. This country and continent has diverse wildlife, including marsupials, which evolved from the geographic isolation.
Each island in the Pacific Islands is different. The islands are classified into three sub-regions based on culture: Polynesia, Micronesia, and Melanesia. Polynesia is in the central and southern Pacific Ocean. Micronesia and Melanesia are in the western Pacific Ocean. More than ten thousand islands in the Pacific Islands formed in a unique way.
