Summary

Population Demographics

Human geographers study large groups of people by examining population characteristics. This includes items like age and gender distribution, GDP, and life expectancy. By using the same criteria to analyze different regions, geographers observe population trends and patterns. For instance, they use statistical data to assess a region's quality of life or level of economic development. Geographers and economists also use these factors to categorize nations as developed or developing.

Although the world's population continues to grow, many countries experience a decline in population growth rate. Education, economic development, and the role of women in society has caused this shift.
