Latin America and the Caribbean

The name Latin America refers to the main languages spoken in this region: Spanish, Portuguese, and French. All three of these languages are derived from Latin. English is also spoken in this region, particularly in areas of the Caribbean. Because English is not derived from Latin, the most accurate name for this region is Latin America and the Caribbean.
