A view from a mountain in the Hindu Kush range

Due to extreme physical features like the Himalayas, Hindu Kush, and Indian Ocean, India was well-protected from invaders. Despite its geographic features, people and goods still traveled into India using mountain passes through the Hindu Kush. There were many advances made in India from several of the ruling groups. These advances included free hospitals, new textiles, better roads, and the idea that the Earth is round.
