Islam had a major impact on world history. The teachings of Muhammad were written in a holy book, the Qur'an, and became the foundation of the Muslim faith. The Qur'an was written in Arabic, and as the religion spread across the Middle East through pre-established trade routes, it helped unify Arabic people. Islam also spread to northern Africa and parts of Europe.

The Islamic civilization contributed a lot to the world, some of which you see and use in your daily life. Early Muslims left a lasting imprint on the development of humans through the arts, architecture, mathematics, science, and geography.
