The Scientific Revolution began a quest for new knowledge and had an immense impact on society. The scientific discoveries led people to question man’s place in the world and the role of government. These Enlightenment philosophers applied reason and logic to develop new theories about the nature of man, and the formation and role of government. Enlightenment ideas had a dramatic impact on society, which could be seen in music, art, literature, and technology. Lastly, the emphasis on freedom and citizen participation in the government ignited revolutions both in America and in France. Other countries became inspired by these ideas and historical events to begin their quest for freedom from tyranny.
