You may already know a bit about the scientific process from previous science courses. Take a few minutes to view a brief video, The Discovery of Penicillin. As you watch this video, try to identify some steps in the process that Fleming used while he was working. It may help to consider the following questions:

• What was the problem he was trying to solve?
• What were some observations that he made?
• Did he form or test a hypothesis?
• What did he conclude about the work he was doing?
