Photosynthesis and Respiration

Plant with dew dropsAll living organisms need energy for cell functions. Organisms get this energy through the processes of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Plants and other photosynthetic organisms perform photosynthesis, and all eukaryotic organisms perform cellular respiration. The products of photosynthesis are the reactants of cellular respiration, and the products of cellular respiration are the reactants in photosynthesis. Because of this, these processes are considered cyclic.
