The work of scientists has a daily impact on society. Many scientific discoveries and research become ethical and political issues that drive legislation. The elected officials who are responsible for voting on legislation dealing with scientific discoveries get their information from articles published in scientific journals, magazines, newspapers, and from various online resources.
Your job for this assignment is to evaluate five articles that are related to concepts you learned about in this module. For each of these articles, you will fill out the Article Evaluation Template. You can find an article in a newspaper (print or online edition), a magazine (print or online edition), a website, or a scientific journal. Some topics you might want to research include: genetic engineering, DNA research, RNA research, biotechnology, mutations, and mutagens.
You should include the following in your evaluation of each article:

You will need to use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment, so please submit a Works Cited document with your assignment submission. Reflection
Once you have completed your article evaluations, take a few minutes to consider the following questions: How has reading these articles helped you to deepen your understanding of the content presented in this module? How likely are you to use outside reading to extend your knowledge of a subject in the future? In a digital document, compose four to five sentences responding to these questions.
