Measurement

Calculator, ruler, and pencilThe International System of Units (SI) was created so that countries across the world can share information. In this topic, you explored the International System of Units, including the base units of length, volume, mass, temperature, time, and their prefixes. You learned how to measure and calculate mass, volume, and density the same way that scientists do using a triple beam balance, a metric ruler, and a graduated cylinder. In addition, you used real scientific data to create a line graph. All of these skills are meant to prepare you for what is ahead as you study astronomy, geology, meteorology, and oceanography.
