Galaxies and the Milky Way

Part A: Galaxies Venn Diagram

Venn DiagramVenn diagrams are graphic organizers that show the similarities and differences between two or more items. Using the information you learned in this topic, you should construct a Venn diagram to organize your thoughts about the three different types of galaxies: spiral, elliptical, and irregular.

Your diagram should include three circles that overlap in the middle and are each labeled with the names of one of the galaxies. Please look at the image on this page for an example. For each galaxy's individual circle, list four unique characteristics that pertain to that type of galaxy only. Then, list two characteristics that the galaxies share in the area in which the circles overlap. Try to list at least one characteristic which all three types of galaxy share in the location where all three circles overlap.

Once you have completed your Venn diagram, submit your assignment to the dropbox.
