Part One of the novel focused on introducing readers to the culture of the Ibo tribe and Okonkwo’s tragic flaw. Part Two introduces the British to the Ibo. Within the frame of British colonialism, you will see the tragic hero ride the roller coaster of life in exile and his attempt to return to the village he knows and loves. What happens when outside influences from the “civilized” world begin to impact isolated cultures? The answer to this will become obvious in Part Two.
