Contemporary Connections – Different Points of View

Their work represented the dream of finding freedom and individuality and reflected the new identity of the American people. By the end of the Modernist movement, America had grown up. Gone was the innocence of a youthful and new nation. In its place was a nation that had weathered hardship and war, a nation that emerged changed but stronger for having survived and flourished.
