Elements of Drama

silhouette of directorAs an actor or director, how would you use the elements of drama to recreate a historic character from the Salem Witch Trials? Remember the Historic Person Trading Card assignment? You will use that Application assignment in completing this activity.

Imagine you were the playwright of The Crucible, and you must turn a historical person into a character of the play. Using your notes from your trading card, consider the elements of drama needed to make the character on the card "come to life." How should your character look, speak, dress, live, and work? Be sure to address the elements of set design, costuming, make-up, and props as described in the Character Creation Template. Then, describe your Character Creation in an organized one-paragraph summary. You may need to complete additional research and use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment. If so, please submit a Works Cited document. If you need assistance, visit the Developmental Module for information on citing resources.

When you have a complete idea of your character, use the Character Creation Template to complete the assignment. Before you begin, review the Character Creation Checklist to make sure that you include all of the items required for full credit.
