In his autobiography, Benjamin Franklin explained a process a person could undergo to achieve moral perfection. In short, he created a system for improving the quality of life by improving the quality of one's character. What personality or character traits do you feel are most important for a person to develop? What traits top your list? Are they compassion, faith, forgiveness, perseverance, patience, confidence, etc.?
Make a list of five to ten character traits you feel all people should strive to develop and possess. Select one as the single most important trait and write a paragraph in which you explain why you feel this trait is the most important. Post your responses to these questions in the discussion area. Then, return to the topic several times over the next few days to read your coursemates' posts. Reply to at least two of them, making sure to ask questions and encourage further conversation.
