If you have ever been to a movie theater, then you know that most movies do not start at the time posted by the cinema. Instead, the start time indicates when the movie theater will begin to show a set of movie trailers, which are previews for other movies. Movie trailers are digital advertisements for upcoming movies. Movie production companies release these movie trailers on social media websites, in theaters, and on television.
As the title of this module depicts, literature during the Anglo-Saxon and Medieval Periods explored the themes of good, evil, and noble sacrifice. For this assignment, you will need to reflect these ideas to create a two minute movie trailer for a movie about one of the works from this module. Remember, not all movies are the same genre; there are action-adventure movies, comedies, science-fiction movies, mysteries, romances, horror films, dramas, and many more genres! You should pick the genre that most appeals to you and design your trailer for a movie that YOU would like to see.
Your movie trailer should include at least five different pieces of information related to the characteristics or literary devices used in the work that you are digitizing. It should be well-organized, creative, and interesting. Instead of just presenting the information or facts in video form, your movie trailer should entice people to see your movie. You should use images, music, animations, real video footage, or other digital assets to compile your movie trailer. Make sure to include a title for your movie!
In addition to your video file, you should submit a storyboard of your movie trailer. You may create your own storyboard design, or you may use the Anglo-Saxon and Medieval Movie Trailer Storyboard Template. Use the video creation information found in the Developmental Module to help you create your movie trailer. Before you begin, access the Anglo-Saxon and Medieval Movie Trailer Rubric to make sure that you include all of the items required for full credit. You will need to use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment. Please submit a Works Cited document. If you need assistance, please visit the Developmental Module for information on citing any resources that you use.
This assignment might be a work sample that you want to include in your digital portfolio.
Reflection
Do you think your ideas of good, evil, and noble sacrifice are similar to those from the Anglo-Saxon and Medieval Periods? How are they the same, and how are they different? Why? In a digital document separate from your essay, compose three to four sentences responding to these questions.
Once you have completed your storyboard, movie trailer, Works Cited document, and reflection, please submit your work to the dropbox.
