Restoration Poetry

journal iconYou may have heard someone use the Latin phrase carpe diem. Translated into English, the phrase means "seize the day." The phrase carpe diem was first used by the Latin poet Horace when he wrote: "carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero," which means "pluck the day, put no trust in the future."

What does it mean to you to carpe diem? How do you balance your feelings of carpe diem with your responsibilities or your thoughts for the future? Take a few minutes to consider these questions. Then, compose a journal entry of three to four sentences to answer them. If you need assistance on writing a journal entry, please visit the Developmental Module for more information. Once you have completed your journal entry, please save it with a file name of mod5top2_carpediem and submit it to the journal dropbox.
