Believe it or not, you encounter satire nearly every day. Satire makes its way into everyday life in various forms, but one of the most common forms is political cartoons. Take a few minutes to conduct an internet search for a political cartoon. As you look at your search results, keep in mind that satirists are seeking change. They use satire to push for shifts in social and political structure that might be uncomfortable for some people, such as those in the middle or upper classes. When you find a political cartoon, spend a few minutes analyzing it. What point is the cartoonist trying to make? What is the cartoonist trying to change?
