Now that you have examined how poets use allusion and hyperbole, you are going to use each of these types of figurative language in your own poem. For this assignment, you should create a short six or eight line poem that uses both an example of both allusion and hyperbole. As you write your poem, you should highlight any allusions in yellow and any hyperboles in green. Suggested topics for your poem include:
Make sure that your poem is clearly written and is free from spelling and grammar mistakes. You may choose whether or not your poem rhymes, and if so, how it rhymes.
