Module 7: Bon Appétit

film negatives

Have you ever wanted to star in your own movie? Now is your chance! For this authentic assessment, you will collaborate with a coursemate to create a video. Together, you will write the script and role play the parts you create. You have plenty of leeway to be creative; however, you must develop three scenes, which include the details below.

Scene 1
  • Setting: une patisserie or une boulangerie
  • Conversation: Between the shopkeeper and a customer who wants to either buy an entire item or part of something
  • Vocabulary: I want..., I would like...
Scene 2
  • Setting: un marché
  • Conversation: Between the vendor and a customer who wants to buy specific quantities of two different fruits or vegetables
  • Vocabulary: fruit items, vegetable items, and quantities
Scene 3
  • Setting: A dinner party at a friend's home
  • Conversation: Between a guest and the host who offers food that is either accepted or rejected
  • Vocabulary: vouloir, pouvoir

For this authentic assessment, you will need to write a script of your video and then videotape all three scenes. The video must be in French and last three-to-six minutes. Make sure you speak clearly, fluently, and with correct French pronunciations. Use the information found in the Developmental Module to help you create your video.

Before you begin, access the Role Play Video Checklist to make sure you include all items required for full credit.
