Geometric Window Designs
Imagine that you work for a company that offers custom stained glass windows. A stained glass window is made of pieces of glass that vary in shape, size, and color. The pieces are fused together to create a pattern or picture. You have five customers who need different designs for the storefront windows of their various businesses: a pet store, a bakery, a dance studio, a toy store, and a flower shop.
In order to make sure each customer has a unique window design, you decide to take a different approach in creating the look of each window.
- One window design should have a pattern of dilations from the center of the window.
- Another should have a design with line symmetry.
- A third window should have a design rotated about the origin.
- The fourth window should have a translated image.
- The final window design should have a reflection.
Before you begin construction of the windows, you need to send the customers a draft of the design you have created for each of them so they can approve it. Remember to tailor, or customize, the theme of each design to reflect the particular business that is purchasing the window.
