Designing the Chassis: Bones

ArtistBones Now that you have learned the basics of the bones in your body, choose a bone from the human body and build a model of it. Your model should be accompanied by the following information:

  • The name of the bone;
  • The type of bone; and
  • The location of the bone in the human body.

In addition, your model should have clear labels of the following features:

  • The correct structure and shape of the bone;
  • Two muscle-attachment sites;
  • Marrow;
  • Nerves; and
  • Blood vessels.

Your model should be creative, informative, and accurate. Make sure that your model is clearly-designed and that all labels are legible. Before you begin, access the Model of a Bone Checklist to make sure that you include all of the items required for full credit. You will need to use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment, so please submit a Works Cited document with your assignment submission. If you need assistance, visit the Developmental Module for information on citing any resources that you used.

Options to create your model include the following:

  1. Utilize household or crafting items to create the bone model, and then take a picture of it for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
  2. Utilize three-dimensional modeling software to create the bone model, and then submit your model to the assignment's dropbox.

AssignmentOnce you have completed your bone model, please submit an image of your work to the dropbox. Make sure to save your model because you will need it in a later assignment.
