Team Sports
A team sport is one in which a group of people compete against other groups of people in a manner that requires physical fitness and skill. It is important that every individual on a team do what he or she can to stay physically fit. As a member of a team, you are expected to be prepared, both physically and mentally, for the next competition. If you are taking drugs, rather than working out, eating well, taking care of your body, and practicing, you are letting not only yourself down, but your teammates as well.
There are many benefits to participating in team sports. Not only do they allow you to stay physically active, thus improving your physical health, but they also give you a chance to develop the characteristics of perseverance, teamwork, dedication, and to enhance your communication skills. This can improve your social and emotional health.
Your school, local parks and recreation department, local organizations, and private businesses offer opportunities to become involved in team sports.
