Time Management

Assignment Timeline

Graphic Organizer IconWhen faced with a large task, one of the best ways to manage your time effectively is to break down the task into smaller parts and schedule them in a way that allows you to avoid procrastination. Think of an upcoming assignment or project that you know you have to complete. Using the Assignment Timeline Template, create a timeline for completing and submitting your assignment. First, add the start and end dates of the project. Then, break the assignment down into at least six smaller parts and include them on the template. Add dates for the submission of those items, too. At the bottom, write two to three sentences about your timeline and how you are going to use it to manage your time more effectively.

Your timeline should be organized so that all of the events are clearly marked and all text is legible. Before you begin, access the Assignment Timeline Checklist to make sure that you include all of the items required for full credit. If resources outside of this course are used to complete this assignment, please submit a Works Cited document. If you need assistance, visit the Developmental Module for information on citing any resources that you used.

Options to create your timeline include the following:

  1. Using the template provided, hand-draw the assignment and then take a picture of it for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
  2. Using the template provided, hand-draw the assignment and then scan it for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
  3. Using the template provided, utilize a paint or graphics program to create the image. You can then submit your work to the assignment’s dropbox.
  4. Create a new file in a paint or graphics program and utilize the software to create the image. You can then submit your work to the assignment’s dropbox.

Once you have completed your assignment, please submit your work to the dropbox.
