No matter your interest in oceanography, there's likely an exciting place for you! Fortunately, over 200 colleges and universities offer degree programs. Undergraduate degrees typically take four years to earn, and there are plenty of opportunities to continue studies in graduate school programs.

Depending on your level of education and experience, career opportunities include biological oceanographer, fisheries manager, marine chemist, secondary school teacher, water quality assurance specialist, environmental consulting, marine biologist, and oil exploration. You could even work for the United States Navy!

If you discover a field of interest, talk with your school counselor. She or he will guide you on the courses you should take during the remainder of your high school career.
