Marine Protected Areas

stack of DVDsArt IconNow that you have explored the fourteen marine protected areas in the United States, revisit NOAA's National Marine Sanctuaries website and select one of the protected areas. Pretend that a movie studio has made a documentary, or informational movie, about the sanctuary that you selected and that they have contacted you to design the front cover for the DVD. Your DVD cover will need to include the following items:

  • A catchy and descriptive title for the movie
  • The name of the marine sanctuary
  • The location of the marine sanctuary
  • Two images relevant to the sanctuary
  • A short list of two to three bullets about why the sanctuary is important and should be preserved

Your DVD cover should be attractive and well-organized because you want people to view the movie. Before you begin, access the Marine Sanctuary DVD Cover Checklist to make sure you have included all of the items required for full credit.
