Citizenship and Civic Life

In order to become a naturalized citizen of the United States, an immigrant must have:

    Statue of Liberty
  • a continuous period of lawful residence and physical presence in the United States;
  • the ability to read, write, and speak English;
  • good moral character; and
  • a belief in the principles of the U.S. Constitution.

In addition to these requirements, potential citizens must pass a citizenship exam. You will revise and update this citizenship exam, based on the Practice Test for Citizenship Exam you completed in the Warm-Up for this topic.

Use the Citizenship Exam Template to create a 10 question citizenship exam. Your 10 exam questions should consist of 5 multiple choice questions and 5 short answer questions that address concepts you have learned in this course. Each short answer question should have a response of 1-2 sentences. These responses should be included in an answer key along with your exam.

You may print and fill out the template, scan the completed document, and submit it to the dropbox or you may use word processing software to complete the template and then submit it to the dropbox.
