Civil Rights Actions and Legislation

Link IconMartin Luther King, Jr.Martin Luther King, Jr. encouraged and helped all people stand up for their rights. On August 28, 1963, King delivered a sixteen-minute speech that would be named the “I Have a Dream” speech. King gave the speech on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in front of 250,000 civil rights supporters. The speech was one of the defining moments of the American Civil Rights Movement.

In his speech, Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke of many dreams he had that related to equality. He dreamed that his “four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” If you were to give a similar speech today, what would you dream for or about?
