Yalta Policy Brief

essay iconImagine that a member of the President's delegation at the Yalta Conference thought you were one of the policy advisors, and asked you to prepare a plan for the President addressing the following key points:

  • How should Germany and Japan be organized after World War II ends?
  • How should the United States economically support the countries impacted by the war?
  • What can the United States do or create to prevent future wars from happening?

The delegate will not let you leave until you have submitted your brief. Keeping in mind what you know about consequences that occurred at the end of World War II, prepare a short brief for the President that outlines your response to the above questions. You can write in support of what you learned in this topic, or come up with a new plan. Either way, as you compose your policy brief, make sure to include information from this topic, and use evidence to support your points. Address each question in a four to five sentence paragraph.

Before you begin, review the Yalta Policy Brief Checklist to make sure you included all of the items required for full credit. You may need to use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment. If so, please submit a Works Cited document. If you need assistance, visit the Developmental Module for information on citing any resources that you used.
