Humans and the Environment
The Future of Human-Environment Interaction: Climate Change

Scientists and geographers study the ongoing effects humans have on the environment. In recent years, it has become clear that global climate change is a very real and serious issue. This includes a rise in sea level, a shift in temperatures, and an altering of weather patterns that influence storms and natural disasters. As humans continually change the environment, a greater risk of irreversible change arises.
Take a moment to view the video, Climate Change Around the World (Episode 7), from eMediaVASM. After watching the video, think about answers to the following questions:
- How does climate change impact the environment?
- What lasting challenges does global climate change pose to future inhabitants of the world?
Post your responses to both of these questions in the discussion area. Then, return to the topic several times over the next few days to read your coursemates’ posts. Reply to at least two of them, being sure to ask questions and encourage further conversation.
