Egyptians used visual representations of things in everyday life to communicate and record events important to their culture. Unlike then, today's information is conveyed using a variety of mediums, including text, graphics, video, and other forms of multimedia. Information graphics, also called infographics, convey pieces of information using visual representations. The information displayed on this infographic does not pertain to your study of world history; however, the methods it uses to communicate ideas can be a helpful model.

For this assignment, create an infographic that conveys information you learned about ancient Egypt. Specifically, you should use images, graphs, and symbols to create one large infographic that communicates why Egypt is referred to as the "gift of the Nile." Be sure to communicate your ideas clearly. Your infographic should be well-organized, but should also be graphically interesting and attractive.

Include the following information in your infographic:

  1. A map of Egypt, including the Nile River and the Nile River Delta;
  2. The pyramids, including a list of items that may have been found in those pyramids;
  3. Symbols to represent the forms of writing used by the ancient Egyptians;
  4. The term for their rulers and a word or picture to show how rule was passed from generation to generation;
  5. The names of two ancient Egyptian gods;
  6. At least one other item you deem of interest or importance to the Egyptians; and
  7. One similarity and one difference between ancient Egypt and ancient Mesopotamia.

You may need to use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment. If so, please submit a Works Cited document.
