Major Events of World War II

iconGraphic of newspaper with headline Germany Pounds Poland.Pretend that you are a columnist for a newpaper during World War II. Your editor has assigned you the task of writing about any battle that has occured in World War II for the front page of the newspaper.

In your newspaper article, include the following

  • A catchy headline to get the reader’s attention
  • An image or photograph from that battle
  • The major military leaders involved in the battle for each side (if known)
  • A summary of what exactly happened during the battle, including a quote from a soldier who was there
  • Which side won the battle and why

Before you begin, download the Newspaper Article checklist that provides all of the items you need to include in order to receive full credit for your work. You may need to use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment. If so, please submit a Works Cited document.
