That is right - you are a space weather meteorologist. For this assignment, you will create a space weather forecast that will help your audience understand the current and future space weather conditions and how those conditions will impact Earth.

The, use the information that you learned from this topic to help you create your forecast. Remember, a meteorologist on the television or radio is usually very friendly, engaging, and informative. In your forecast, you will need to include the following information:

  • Any current alerts
  • The solar wind speed
  • A description of the aurora map for the northern and the southern hemisphere
  • The current number of sunspots
  • Any current or predicted geomagnetic storms, solar radiation storms, or radio blackouts
