Illustration of Protein Molecule
Protein synthesis is the process in which cells build and make proteins. DNA carries the genetic code that undergoes the process of transcription and translation. Transcription and translation are processes in protein synthesis where the genetic code (DNA) is read by the mRNA and translated by the tRNA to make a specific amino acid sequence on the ribosome. The chain of amino acids is the building blocks of the specific protein needed in the cell. The protein is made in the cytoplasm by the ribosomes of a cell with the help of rRNA.
