You will further your understanding of vaccinations by creating an infographic illustrating how they work. An infographic (Information Graphic) is a visual representation of data or information that is intended to explain complex concepts quickly and clearly. Your infographic should include relevant icons, pictures, charts, and/or graphs with text-based information that communicates how vaccines work to build immunity against certain diseases. Visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Global Health - Infographics resource library to view a variety of infographic examples.

Before you begin the assignment, review the Vaccines Infographic Checklist to make sure that you include all of the items required for full credit. You will need to use resources outside of this course to complete this assignment, so please submit a Works Cited document with your assignment submission. If you need assistance, visit the Developmental Module for information on citing any resources that you used.

Options to create your infographic include the following:

  1. Hand-draw the infographic and then take a picture of it for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
  2. Hand-draw the infographic and then scan it for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
  3. Use a template in a word-processing, presentation, paint, or graphics program and utilize the software to create the infographic. You can then submit your work to the assignment’s dropbox.
  4. Use a mobile or computer-based application to create your infographic and email or export the final product for submission to the assignment’s dropbox.
