State and Local Taxes

Do I HAVE to Pay State and Local Taxes?

Well, no, of course you don't HAVE to. If you don't pay your taxes, the possibility exists that you could be fined or sent to jail. Also, all of your property could be sold to pay your tax bill. 

So, it IS your choice, but is that really what you want? What do you think? Should it be your responsibility to pay for the city bus system, the local police department and the public school system where you live? Why or why not?
