The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Acts IV - V

Senators encirlce Caesar

The Conspirators Encircle Caesar

How do you want to be remembered? After the assasination of Caesar, the conspirators fight against the Second Triumvirate’s army, and they must contend with their guilt and internal conflicts. This brings weakness and an inability to make sound decisions and judgment calls. As the tragic hero, Brutus takes his own life. He is honored because his actions against Caesar were honest and done for the good of Rome, unlike the other conspirators who acted out of jealousy. In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, you experience the unraveling of a plot as well as a character. You also experience how language is used to persuade, whether it is for personal gain or for a noble purpose.
