Contemporary Connections – The Feature Story

male student in front of a computerImagine that you have been given the task of writing a feature article for your school's newspaper. Think about people that you admire such as athletes, artists, historical figures, coworkers, friends or relatives, coaches, or teachers and select one of your personal heroes whom you would like to feature in your article. Your feature story should be between three hundred and five hundred words. The information you write about in your feature will vary depending on the person you choose to profile, but you may want to research information such as your hero's accomplishments, goals, background about his or her life, and any other interesting facts that fascinate you about this person. Remember create an engaging hook in the first paragraph in order to captivate your reader's attention.
