copyright symbolsDiscussion iconUnited States copyright laws protect artists and writers who choose to create a work that is meant to satirize another person’s book, movie, song, or picture.  As long as the satirizing artist only uses certain elements of the original work, they are protected from legal action by the original artist.  Do you think this is fair?  Why or why not?
