The Parts of Your Machine
Your body is like a machine -- it has different systems that are each responsible for a specific function. Without one of these systems, the body, like a machine, may not "run" properly, and might even shut down. Take a look at each of the systems in the body and explore how it works. You will see how the body's systems are much like the systems in a car. Just as you need to have a basic understanding of your car in order to keep it in tip-top shape, you need to understand the parts of your body in order to take care of it with proper nutrition and exercise. Setting Goals
Have you ever thought about your long-term health goals? Do you want to be a vibrant healthy adult, or one who feels endlessly fatigued and unhealthy? What you do to your body today, the amount of exercise you get, the nutrients you eat, and the behaviors you participate in can and will affect your level of wellness as an adult. Therefore, it is critical for you to set goals for yourself now in order to build and maintain the machine that is your body.
Goals give you something to work toward. Achieving a goal can give you a sense of pride and accomplishment. Can you think of a time that you worked hard for something and achieved or mastered it? How did you feel? Setting goals for your health is something you should do throughout your entire life. Overall health should be one of your constant goals.
While you view this presentation on setting goals, be sure to take careful notes on the various types of goals and how setting smaller goals will help you reach your larger ones. Click the player button to begin.
